Unique Edo period pattern

In the Edo period, when the main players shifted from samurai to merchants, the main players were fish wholesalers in the fish market, kimono dealers in Honmachi, financial operators in the exchange town, lumber, kudari-zake (Kansai sake), oil, medicinal seeds, and dried vegetables. It was an era when the townspeople's culture blossomed brilliantly as the merchants who dealt with them led a new culture through entertainment of samurai families, socializing with friends, lifestyles and hobbies.
