Kaga Yuzen

Yuzen is famous as a major dyeing method in kimono, but it was originally created by Miyazaki Yuzensai, a painter who lived in Kyoto Gifu in the Genroku era.

On the other hand, it is said that Miyazaki Yuzensai, the founder of Yuzen Dyeing and died in Kaga (present-day Ishikawa Prefecture), was a donation to Taro Taya, who was Konya, the leader of the Kaga Domain, in his later years.

The characteristic of Kaga Yuzen is that natural flowers and birds are realistic, and in the Hokuriku where they live buried in snow in winter, the flowers of plants are small and there are many insect-eating leaves. Kaga Yuzen has a beautiful pattern of them, and the expression that depicts the traces of "insect-eating" with a leaf pattern is excellent.
