着物の歴史は遡る事、およそ2000年と言われています

The history of kimono goes back to about 2000 years.

2000年の歴史の中に着方が多少の変化はありましたが、形がほとんど変わらないのは世界でもとても稀有な事のようです。

There have been some changes in the way of wearing it in the history of 2000, but it seems to be very rare in the world that the shape hardly changes.

左右の衿を合わせて着る、そして合わせるところを押さえる為に帯があります。

There is an obi to wear the left and right collars together, and to hold the place where to match.

形が変化しないゆえに、素材や柄に、そして色に変化を求める事になりました。

Because the shape does not change, we decided to change the material, pattern, and color.

そこで発展したのが染織芸術なのです。

That's where the dyeing and weaving art developed.
