yukata
There are different types of yukata materials, such as plain weave cotton called koma-ji, red plum weave, shrink, cotton roses, and nishikisa, and there are different dyeing methods, such as pouring dyeing, rolling dyeing, and nagaita dyeing, in which the cloth is stretched on a long board and dyed in a pattern.
It is often said that a yukata should be worn over bare skin after taking a bath, but until the early Showa period, yukata were worn not only in summer but all year round.
It was often worn as indoor wear, but now it is almost exclusively worn in summer.
